The St. Marys Clicks was formed in November of 2010.  A number of St. Marys residents who were taking photography lessons at St. Marys Public Library, asked about the idea of forming a photogaphy club.  Given the strong interest, meetings were convened in the upstairs meeting room of the Library.

 

Since its formation, the Club provides an informal, friendly, and supportive environment where photographers of all skill levels can share, learn, develop and explore the creative and documentary potential of photography.

 

Our meetings are held at 7 PM on the first Thursday of the month at:

 

St. Marys Presbyterian Church Hall,

147 Widder St E. in St. Marys

 

If you wish, arrive at 6:30 for a coffee social.

 

Membership is $25 per year.  Each month we review member photos submitted for a series of chosen themes including a monthly challenge competition.  The winning photo is posted on this website and also published on our Meta [Facebook] page.

 

Guest speakers are a regular feature at our meetings presenting topics from "how to" to post-processing digital images.  We also arrange periodic field trips to expand member's knowledge and experiences.

Guidelines for new members

Listed below are guildelines to help you understand how our group works:

•    Meeting time and location and monthly themes are listed on the events tab at:

     http://stmarysclicks.wix.com/stmarysclicks#!about/c10fk   We invite you to come at 6:30 to visit   

     with other members before the meeting begins at 7 p.m.  

•    Please make sure submitted photos have been converted to jpeg format.


•    The Contest Photo is to be emailed to stmclicksphotos@gmail.com by 7 pm the Monday before            the meeting.  We recommend the photo have a resolution of 300 dpi.

      NB Contest photos must be taken in the month prior to the contest.

•    Theme Photos should have a resolution of 300 dpi and be sent to stmarysclicks@gmail.com by          7 pm the Wednesday before the meeting.  Reminder emails are sent out a few days ahead of              time. If you miss the deadline you may bring theme photos in on a memory stick to be shown at        the meeting.  

      (We do encourage you to email your photos in advance to save time during the meeting.)  

•     Members may submit one contest photo and up to four theme photos per month.  The Open                category can be a photo you are especially proud of that didn’t match any of our themes or it            can be a photo for which you’d like critique or advice, BUT STILL TAKEN IN THE MONTH                            PREVIOUS TO THE MEETING DATE.  

•     You are invited to attend two meetings at no charge before deciding to become a member.

•    Membership fee is $25.00 for one year and is renewable every September.  Meetings run from           September to June.
